Regeneration through relationships
Our community is made up of diverse people with different backgrounds and focuses. Our workshops and other events usually take place on the farms of our practitioners and together with them.
We also work with independent partners who have completed training with us at some point and are dedicated to the topic. They are in regular contact with Leon for questions and ideas and in order to provide support for them.
We look forward to talking to you - no matter where you are.
Maarten is a farmer, consultant, farm manager and passionate about life.
His work focuses on the practical motivation, coaching and support of colleagues, employees, new management generations and financiers.
Kommend von seinen jahrzehntelangen Arbeit auf und mit Milchviehbetrieben ist sein Blick immer geschärft auf Produktiionszahlen und Kosten – und was echte Profitabilität bedeutet.
Maarten is a “bridge builder” between agriculture and nature conservancy. His broad practical experience is complemented by his European connections.
Wie können wir eine zukunftsfähige, also wirklich nachhaltige, Landwirtschaft mit eigener Wertschöpfung und Vermarktung schaffen?
Since 2021, he has been increasingly integrating the Holistic Management Framework into his work.
„Lass dabei ALLE Tiere, sowohl ober- als unterirdisch, für dich arbeiten!“
Stefan is an agronomist (Witzenhausen, specializing in livestock farming), has worked as a farm assistant (dairy cattle, Odenwald) and has returned to his roots after a long detour via environmental consulting in an engineering office and as an ESG specialist (Environmental, Social and Governance) at the Dutch development bank (FMO) in the Agri Food and Water department.
Stefan's work has given him first-hand experience of the degeneration of the landscape and agricultural soils caused by industrial agriculture in many countries.
In 2025, he started advising (dairy) livestock farms in the Netherlands and sees great potential here.
His motto is: Let's start using this potential of regenerative agriculture!
Stefan has been an Accredited Professional in the Savory network since March 2025.
Hannes Höhne is a farmer, industrial engineer for environmental technology, consultant and project developer for regenerative land use.
Since 2020, he has been working with three other colleagues and a changing team on the Haidehof Farm near Hamburg to develop a model farm for regenerative agriculture. In addition to a herd of suckler cows and fully mobile grazing poultry under a holistic grazing strategy (Holistic Planned Grazing), ploughless, bio-intensive mulch vegetable cultivation forms the basis for strengthening regional food sovereignty in the west of Hamburg.
Fabian runs a joint farm with his parents between Hamburg and Bremen with just under 70 hectares of orchards, forest, arable farming and grassland.
After completing the fundamental course on holistic management in 2021, he tries out new approaches and ideas not only on the pasture but also on the entire farm.
Grazing management is a holistic piece of work for him, as his areas have an average size of one hectare and he has to move his animals every 7 to 12 days with the cattle trailer. “But that works pretty smoothly because the cows already know it well,” he likes to say.
His herd currently consists of 35 animals with around 10 mother cows.
Together with two other families (and 10 employees), Christian and Annabelle run the Tangsehl farm in north-eastern Lower Saxony as a community-supported mixed arable farm: dairy cattle, beef cattle, pigs, laying hens, fodder production and grassland farming, their own milk processing, potatoes, flowers and herbs as well as 60 different vegetable crops for around 250 arable shares. The poor, sandy soil presents all kinds of agricultural challenges. Several years of drought have led to massive yield losses on all non-irrigated areas, causing great existential fears and worries about the future. This was the starting point for holistic management, the emergence of a regenerative mindset and a focus on stability and resilience through the development of permanently vegetated agroecosystems with the help of ruminants.
Viviane Theby is a veterinarian for behavioral therapy and animal trainer. She trained in agriculture before studying veterinary medicine. She came to Scheuerhof as a vet in 1994 and stayed there for love.
When the garden became available in 2017, the opportunity arose to realize the long-awaited dream of supplying food from our own garden.
While researching the topic of gardening, she came across permaculture and was enthusiastic about the idea behind it. She also came across Allan Savory's TedTalk with the insight that soil can be rebuilt with animals!
She managed to get Karl on board with the idea, and when the dairy cows left the farm, it made sense to enrich the pastures with a mother cow herd of Glan cattle.
Since then, she has not only been applying Holistic Management, but also giving courses in it.
Christine and her husband Martin, an “original Allgäu mountain farmer”, are the 4th generation to run the KugelSüdhangHof in the Oberallgäu.
The farm location has always been susceptible to extreme weather conditions of all kinds and is not easy to manage. In 2011, Martin and Christine therefore set out to look for more regenerative strategies, in particular to make their farm even more resilient to the expected effects of climate change.
They came across “Holistic Management” in 2015 and have been practising Holistic Planned Grazing with their dual-purpose cattle since 2016. In order to gain a deeper understanding of the functions of grassland ecosystems and to be able to support them even better, they launched the EU-funded (EIP-Agri) on-farm research project “KUHproKLIMA” in 2020.
Further projects on the topic of “regenerative land use” are being planned for the future.
Martin and Lisa run a small farm with a herd of suckler cows in Altmünster, Austria.
Their aim is to model change by uniting people on the farm so that they can continue to develop healthily as a community and farm.
A special topic of her experience and heart is to live succession and farm handovers holistically.
